Guardian Homes

At Beckett’s Bernedoodles we love having our breeding dogs placed with a loving family, living their best life. Guardian home puppies will stay with their guardian home families forever.   Guardian families need to live local (within 2 hours driving) to Beckett’s Bernedoodles.

Our guardian home program allows you to adopt a “pick of the litter” puppy free of charge, that we intend to use for our breeding program.  Most of our guardian home puppies will be female.  Beckett’s Bernedoodles retains all breeding rights of the guardian puppy.  All health testing related to breeding, as well as breeding costs are the responsibility of Beckett’s Bernedoodles.  If the guardian puppy does not pass the health testing, the guardian puppy will be spayed/neutered and all rights to the puppy will be released to the guardian family.

Guardian families are responsible for all routine veterinary care and health of the puppy in their care. Included are annual vaccines, heartworm, flea and tick prevention, feeding high quality dog food, grooming needs, socialization and training.

Our guardian dogs will have up to 4 litters.  The guardians agree to keep the dog intact until breeding is complete.  When all breeding is complete, Beckett’s Bernedoodles will pay for the guardian dog to be spayed or neutered and the guardian dog will be released to the guardian home.

Typically, females go into heat once every six months and the heat lasts for 14 to 21 days.  During this time a diaper can be used for cleanliness, and the dog should be protected from intact male dogs to prevent unintended pregnancies.
